Iluvmymoni’s World Record Highlights Fourth Leg of OSS for Freshman Colt Trotters

Iluvmymoni set a new world record to highlight the two $75,000 divisions of the fourth leg of the Ohio Sires Stakes for freshman colt trotters at Northfield Park Racino on Monday (Aug. 17).

Driven by David Miller, Iluvmymoni won the second division by three lengths in 1:54.3, setting a new world record for 2-year-old gelded trotters on a half-mile track. The Ready For Moni gelding out of Iluvwineandroses led gate to wire, recording fractions of :28.1, :57.3, and 1:26. Mind On My Moni (Ronnie Wrenn Jr.) was second followed by Roll’n In Moni (Chris Lems) in third. It was the third OSS win of the season for Iluvmymoni, who is trained by Steve Carter for owners Brixton Medical and Hatfield Stables. He also has two runner-up finishes on the year, earning $120,125 in five starts.

Debt Free (Wrenn Jr.) won the first division by three-quarters of a length in 1:55.1. Motor Earle (Mike Micallef) and Lou Armstrong (Justin Irvine) rounded out the top three. Debt Free is trained by Vernon Beachy for owners 518 Group, Gitup Racing, Ryan Smith, and Todd’s Auto. Also a winner in the third leg of the OSS, the Ready For Moni gelding has hit the board in all five seasonal starts with a 3-1-1 record while banking $121,250.

Celebrating its 50th season, the Ohio Sires Stakes continues Tuesday (Aug. 18) with the fourth leg for freshman filly pacers at Eldorado Scioto Downs.
