Ohio Fair Stakes Cancellation Policy
If any of the Ohio Fair Stakes races are canceled, the funds for those races must be returned to the respective distribution sources. On the VLT Purse Support Allocation, the O.H.H.A. Board October 25, 2016 approved a cancellation policy. In the event of cancellation, the Owners of horses that did not scratch by cancellation time get their nomination and entry fee (by Division) plus $200 of the VLT Purse Supplement paid out to them due to the cancellation. The remaining VLT Purse Support Allocation after $200 per horse is deducted must be returned to the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association. When returning the remainder, please provide an accounting outlining the scratched horses and paid-out horses. For the Ohio Fairs Fund Allocation those funds must be returned in full to the Ohio Department of Agriculture in the event of a cancellation
