Noble, Grismore Hot at Scioto

May 8, 2010

It was an unseasonably cold night at Scioto Downs but drivers Dan Noble and Greg Grismore had hot hands as they steered seven winners on the 11-race card.

Noble led the way with four winners while Grismore scored a hat trick, including a win in the night’s feature behind Camcoder. Grismore, who is splitting his time between The Meadows and Scioto Downs, scored with Camcoder by taking dead aim on pacesetting Mattonthechooch in the final half.

Camcoder trailed the leader into the stretch, then breezed past him to win by 3-1/4 lengths in 1:59.1. Mattonthechooch had set slow fractions even for the cold night and the pacers got serious in the homestretch. Good Connections closed well to secure second place while Mattonthechooch held on for the show dough. Camcoder paid $3.20 to win.

It was the third win in a dozen starts this season for Camcoder, a nine-year-old son of Cam’s Magic Trick bred and owned by Tony E. Coder of Bellefontaine, Ohio. Robert Rogan trains Camcoder. He pushed his career earnings past $220,000.
