Sand Windsor Named Ohio's Best in May

June 8, 2010

Sand Windsor, the winner of the $109,000 Courageous Lady at Northfield Park, was selected by members of the Ohio chapter of the U.S. Harness Writers Association as Ohio Horse of the Month in May. The sophomore daughter of Real Desire made her seasonal debut by winning a conditioned event at Northfield Park on May 14 in 1:55 with driver Aaron Merriman.

The following week Sand Windsor was saddled with post 10 in the Courageous Lady, but the sophomore daughter of Real Desire overcame the poor post and scored by a neck over Allswelthatendswel in 1:54.3.

Sand Windsor is trained by Jim Arledge, Jr. for Bill Sanders of McDonald, Tennessee. Sand Windsor has 4 victories in 12 career starts. Her earnings now stand at $124,960.

Sand Windsor completed the month with a second place finish in a $20,840 James M. Lynch Memorial Elimination on May 29 at Pocono Downs.

Presentation of the Ohio Horse of the Month Award will take place soon at Northfield Park.
