Lake County Fair names Track the Robert C. Sidley Raceway

The 2008 Lake County Fair has re-named their half-mile harness track the Robert C. Sidley Raceway. A new marker and plaque inscribed with the Fair Board’s resolution was unveiled and dedicated with friends, Fair Board members, race officials and fair patrons present.
Lake County’s Immediate Past President, Bob Dawson, announced the naming over the Fair’s public address system as he shared with the audience many of Bob Sidley’s contributions over the past fifty years.
"What Bob Sidley has done for the Lake County Fair, the fairgrounds and the harness racing industry is simply unprecedented, " Dawson said. "It is extremely important to the Fair Board to be able to formally express our appreciation for what Bob Sidley has done here in Lake County and around the State to promulgate the fair industry and the sport of harness racing." |
